Maersk launched the FI2 route connecting China and India, serving trade between the two countries

2026-06-05

Maersk announced the launch of a new FI2 sea freight service direct from China to India. FI2 operates weekly services operated by six vessels. The inaugural westbound voyage will depart from Shanghai on June 4, 2026, with port calls as: Shanghai – Ningbo – Nansha – Tanjung Palapas – Navasheva – Pipawaf – Qasim Port.

The launch of the FI2 route aims to meet the continuously growing China-India trade demand. Direct flights can provide shorter transit times, especially for high-value and time-sensitive goods such as auto parts and new energy materials.

After arriving in Pipavaf, goods can be efficiently distributed to India's National Capital Region (NCR) through Maersk's local integrated land transport and logistics network, including Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, and surrounding industrial zones. Seamless end-to-end connectivity makes FI2 an ideal choice for customers with high demands for schedule reliability and time-to-market.

The FI2 route will be combined with Maersk's existing FI3 route to build a direct maritime network from the Far East to India. The dual-route combination will further offer higher flight frequency, more flexible route options, and stronger supply chain resilience, helping customers plan more effectively and reduce the risk of supply chain disruptions.
